WGMD Fishing Report 7-28-19

I know as fishermen we love to complain about and blame the weather for our lack of success.  The last few days if you didn’t catch fish you will have to find another excuse.  Saturday was wonderful day and fish were caught from the beach to the canyons.

The most excitement was on the fishing pier at Cape Henlopen State Park where Lighthouse View Tackle reported a 5.5-pound flounder was caught by Josh.  That is a nice fish anywhere and a real trophy from the pier.

Amanda told us Four anglers on the Quadtoon fished the Lewes and Rehoboth Canal on Friday during outgoing water and caught nine keeper flounder on Gulp!.  Chad Kaufman caught a five-pound sheepshead at the Outer Wall on a sand flea.  He and his buddy also had seven keeper flounder, two of which were caught from the Canal.

Hook ‘em and Cook ‘em told us the Priceless brought in a 30-pound cobia.

Old Inlet reported the surf hold kings plus a few spot and croaker.  Bloodworms or FishBite bloodworms have been the best bait.
