WGMD Fishing Report 7-3-18

Hermann-Financial

Monday was hot and humid on the beach, but a bit cooler on the water.  The best fishing centered on the Del-Jersey-Land Reef and reef sites 10 and 11.

Tommy at Lewes Harbour Marina told us the Katydid came back in with 114 sea bass caught over ocean structure such as the Del-Jersey-Land Reef.  He also saw eight to ten flounder caught out of the Canal.

From Lighthouse View Tackle on the fishing pier at Cape Henlopen State Park we heard that the spot fishing was pretty good with bloodworms the top bait while only one keeper flounder was caught on Monday.

Lauren at Hook ‘em and Cook ‘em told us the Captain Ike had a good catch of sea bass from the Del-Jersey-Land reef.  Site 10 produced triggerfish and flounder for a private boat.

Old Inlet Bait and Tackle said little has changed from the beach or inlet.  Croaker are still available at the inlet on bloodworms or squid while a few kings have been caught from the beach on bloodworms.  Flounder action in Indian River Bay remains very slow.

This is Eric Burnley with your WGMD fishing report.
