Wicomico Deputies Assist Delaware State Police in Stolen Vehicle Chase

Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office Deputies are currently working in conjunction with Troopers from the Delaware State Police to determine the identity of a driver that led authorities on a chase in both Maryland and Delaware. Deputies assisted Delaware State Police Wednesday morning after a pursuit involving a stolen vehicle crossed state lines. Investigators say the driver first crashed in Delaware, stole another car, and fled into Maryland. Deputies later spotted the vehicle—a black minivan—trying to hide in a gas station before it took off again. The chase went through Wicomico, Dorchester, and Caroline counties, and briefly back into Delaware, As the pursuit led into Denton, a much more congested traffic area, the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office chose to end the pursuit for the safety of the public. Once identified, the driver will be charged appropriately.
