WINTER STORM: Dewey Beach

We are expecting freezing rain, ice, and snow in Dewey Beach starting in the early morning hours of Sunday, January 25th, and continuing through Monday morning. 3-5 inches of snow accumulation is possible. Click here for the current NOAA weather report.Our essential workers, including the Dewey Beach Police Department and our Maintenance Team, will be working during the storm.WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOWOur maintenance team will begin plowing snow early Sunday morning. The Police Station parking lot, and King Charles Ave towards Rehoboth Beach, will be prioritized in the event fire or EMT vehicles must come into Dewey from Rehoboth. If the storm does move in, avoid parking vehicles on streets to allow our maintenance crews to clear roads more effectively.We’ll be working with DelDOT to try to keep roads as clear as possible, including side streets. The maintenance team will not be plowing private driveways. Orange traffic cones will be placed at speed bumps. Please do not move these cones. We appreciate your patience – snow removal is a long and arduous task for our team, especially in the conditions we expect this weekend!Please avoid driving if possible. There is a chance for periods of sleet or ice during the snowstorm.
