Woman Found With Cocaine, Heroin Following Attempted Traffic Stop

A Seaford woman is facing drug-related charges and traffic offenses following an attempted traffic stop for speeding.
According to Delaware State Police, the driver kept going as she was heading eastbound on Hardscrabble Road in the area of Shiloh Church Road Sunday night. The vehicle traveled into a field and landed in a ditch.
Police said 23-year-old Taylor Hurley tried to flee on foot but was apprehended. Also, according to State Police, Hurley was in possession of 7.71-grams of cocaine and about one-gram of heroin.
Two troopers who were involved in the arrest were evaluated at a local hospital for minor injuries.

Hurley was transported to Delaware State Police Troop 4, where she was charged with the following crimes:

  • Possession with Intent to Distribute a Controlled Substance Tier 1 Quantity (Felony)
  • Disregarding a Police Officer Signal (Felony)
  • Resisting Arrest
  • Possession of a Controlled Substance
  • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia- 2 counts
  • Numerous Traffic Violations

Hurley was arraigned in the Justice of the Peace Court #3 and committed to the Delores J. Baylor Women’s Correctional Institution on a $8,625.00 secured bond.
