UPDATED: Why Worcester County School Board Member Katie Addis Resigned
UPDATED – 12/08/25 – While District 6 Worcester County School Board member, Katie Addis resigned from her position last week, no reasons were given by Worcester County School District officials in their release. However Addis spoke to the board for just over six minutes and explained her reasons for resigning in full. She spoke of a lack of trust in the local media to report on the issues – rather than be swayed by the ‘good ole boy’ network, a teachers’ association that bullies non-members, lack of support on aspirations that she campaigned on for her constituents, the destructive culture of the school system and budget over-spending while giving county residents the belief that the district budget is not fully funded. Hear Addis’s full statement –
Addis’s resignation leaves a vacancy between elections that will be filled by the Worcester County Commissioners at a later date.
