Worcester County: Temporary Water Outage in Assateague Point for Valve Installations January 13

Worcester County Public Works will shut off water in the Assateague Point Service Area to install two isolation valves on Tuesday, January 13, 2026, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. In the event of a weather delay, the alternate date will be January 14.

Water service for an estimated 523 homes in the surrounding areas on Assateague Way, West/East Cannonball Drive, North/South Longboat Way, East/West Helmsman Way, Pegleg Way, North/South Bay Breeze Drive, Windlass Way, Rumrunner Drive, North/South Salt Pond Way, Bay Ridge Drive, Bay Watch Drive, Skipjack Drive, East West Yardarm Drive, and East/West Buccaneer Drive will be affected for approximately 6-9 hours, while crews complete these installations.

Following the installations, area residents may experience brown water. If that occurs, please allow the water to run for a few minutes until it becomes clear. If the water remains brown, please contact the Water and Wastewater Division at 410-641-5251.
