WEDNESDAY, JULY 3rd

REHOBOTH BEACH –
– Fireworks – at about 9:30pm (but could begin earlier) spectators should be in town early. Music with the Funsters before the fireworks and after the display ends until 11pm

Parking Information –
Bandstand will be closed to vehicle traffic from 6pm – midnight
– Use the Park & Ride
– Parking also available at Epworth Church on Holland Glade Road, $20 per vehicle – includes transportation on the Jolly Trolley to and from downtown Rehoboth. Cash only, lot opens at 6pm until full
– North Rehoboth Deauville Lot – fee per car till filled
– Metered & non-metered fee permit parking spaces throughout town
– Jolly Trolley

THURSDAY, JULY 4

Rehoboth Beach – 7:30am – 4th Annual Red, White & Blue 5K & Kiddie K
At the Rehoboth Beach Country Club – Tee shirts, chip timing, pizza, beer, fruit, music and a Kiddie K for those 8 and under. Medals to all kiddie k participants. (Registration information at the WGMD Community Calendar below)

LEWES – Old Fashioned 4th of July Celebration
– Old-fashioned games for the kids on Second Street beginning at 9am
– At 1:30pm the Boat Parade down the Lewes-Rehoboth Canal to Fisherman’s Wharf (Lewes Chamber of Commerce (302) 645-8073)
– At 5pm the Doo-Dah Parade begins on King’s Highway, Savannah Road and to Second Street
– Lewes Beach Fireworks 7-10pm

BETHANY BEACH –
Parade at noon – Including the Delmar District Pipe Band from Clayton, 287th National Guard Army Band, 1st Delaware Regiment, 1st State Detachment Marine Corps League, Back Bay Strummers and lots more!
Awards ceremony at 7:15pm
Evening entertainment at the Bandstand Jimi Smooth & the Hit Time Band – 7:30pm
Fireworks at dusk

LAUREL –
8am – Prayer Breakfast – at Abbott’s on Broadcreek
4pm – registration for 1st Annual Stars & Stripes 5K Run/Walk
4-8pm – Car & Truck Show – Front Street
4pm – Local Mayor’s Challenge
5pm – 1st Annual Stars & Stripes 5K Run/Walk
7pm – Parade begins – Central & Delaware Avenues
Also enjoy live music, a cornhole tournament (6pm), petting zoo, face painting and more throughout the afternoon & evening with Fireworks at dusk

Fireworks over the Rehoboth Bay at dusk

OCEAN CITY –
Northside Park, 125th Street –
Music at 8pm and fireworks at dusk

Downtown on the Beach –
Music at 8pm at Caroline Street and fireworks at dusk

SALISBURY – RED, WHITE & BOOM –
Fireworks at County Stadium-across from the Wicomico Civic Center – at dusk (around 9:15pm). Gates open at 6:30pm – vendors will be available. Parking is available at Wi-Hi or the Civic Center. The fireworks will be visible nearly everywhere in town – you can join your friends and neighbors or celebrate the 4th elsewhere around town. Remember to bring a blanket or lawn chairs.

DOVER – PUBLIC ARCHIVES –
Photo Scavenger Hunt – Each participating team or individual will receive a booklet with a map and designated areas to find buildings and sites in the booklet. Take selfies in front of each location to prove it’s been identified and documented. For more information – go to the WGMD Community Calendar below


WGMD’s Salute 2 Troops is heard Monday through Friday in the
9am hour on 92.7 WGMD. You can submit the name of a
member of the military (they don’t have to be a relative – can be a
friend or someone you know about) – living, dead, active or retired
and Jake Smith will salute them for their service.
