Nurse Saves Driver Who Plunged into Wicomico River

The quick-thinking actions of a nurse at Anchorage Healthcare Center are responsible for saving a man’s life after his vehicle plunged into the Wicomico River in Salisbury on Tuesday afternoon.

The incident happened just before 3 p.m. on Times Square along the Wicomico River near the Anchorage Healthcare Center. Licensed Practical Nurse Andrew Lunn witnessed the man accidentally reverse his vehicle into the river and immediately ran in to save him. The Salisbury Fire Department says the man was already recovered from the water before they arrived on scene.

Fire officials employed the use of divers and cranes to remove the car from the water.
