Ocean City Fire Chief Retiring

Hermann-Financial

The town of Ocean City’s Fire Chief Chris Laramore will be retiring later this year after nearly twelve years with the department.

Chief Laramore was hired for the position in 2008, when Ocean City combined it’s fire department. He became the first person to lead the department’s various divisions including the volunteer division and the fire marshal’s office.

“I have been honored to serve as a member of the Volunteer Fire Company for over 27 years and most recently serve as fire chief for the Ocean City Fire Department.” Chief Laramore said. City Manager Doug Miller said “He exemplified the slogan, ‘United to Serve’ and his service will most certainly be missed.”

The town government tells WGMD there is no official retirement date, although he’s expected to leave before the start of the summer season. There is no word on who will be selected as his replacement, or if the successor will be chosen from within or outside the department’s ranks.
