UPDATED: University of Delaware Commencement

UPDATED – 05/24/25 – A University-wide commencement for the University of Delaware Class of 2025 was held Saturday morning in Delaware Stadium. Graduation ceremonies have been going on all week in each of the different schools of study, however many of the nearly 6500 graduates and undergraduates walked one last time Saturday. This is the last commencement ceremony for University of Delaware President Dennis Assanis as he will leave UD at the end of June.
The University of Delaware Board of Trustees has selected Provost Laura Carlson to serve as interim president of the University, effective July 1. The Board will initiate the process of identifying the permanent president over the course of the next academic year.

ORIGINAL STORY – 05/23/25 – University-wide commencement for the University of Delaware Class of 2025 is Saturday morning at 9:30 in Delaware Stadium. University of Delaware President Dennis Assanis will preside – this will be his final graduation ceremony as he will be leaving UD at the end of June. The commencement speaker at this 175th commencement ceremony is Matt O’Donnell – class of 1994 – and morning co-anchor for Action News in Philly.
