AG: No Charges Filed in Salisbury Police-Involved Shooting

Maryland Attorney General Anthony G. Brown has announced no charges will be filed in a fatal police-involved shooting in Salisbury last November. Authorities say officers were attempting to locate a homicide suspect when they encountered the individual, who placed a handgun on a vehicle before later picking it up and failing to comply with commands. Officers then opened fire, and the suspect later died at a hospital. After a months-long investigation, the Attorney General’s Office determined the officers’ actions did not violate Maryland law. A copy of the IID’s detailed investigative findings and analysis of relevant legal issues can be found in its declination report.
