A six-month investigation into an attempted arson at a business in Ridgely has ended with the arrest of 26 year old Marshall Allan Murphy of Sudlersville, MD. Murphy was arrested Friday in Greensboro after he was indicted on 16 charges including 2nd degree arson and three counts of attempted 2nd degree arson.

Maryland State Fire Marshal investigators say Murphy was involved in an ongoing dispute with the owner of Murphy’s Transport in Ridgely. In July, the owner discovered fire damage in a vehicle and ignitable liquid poured inside three others causing about $100,000 in damage.

Murphy is being held without bond in the Caroline County Department of Corrections.
