UPDATED: Barn Fire on Old Ocean City Road in Salisbury Area Accidental; No Injuries

UPDATED – 12/01/23 – A brush fire off Old Ocean City Road near Salisbury Thursday has been ruled accidental by the Maryland State Fire Marshal. Parsonsburg and Salisbury firefighters were called for the fire just after 1:30pm and found a brush fire extended to a horse stable. Fire officials say there were no injuries to humans or animals. Investigation showed the fire began from an electrical failure in an extension cord which caused the brush fire -that extended to a stable.

Damage is estimated at $25,000.

ORIGINAL STORY – 11/30/23 – Parsonsburg and Salisbury units as of earlier this afternoon were on the scene of a barn fire on Old Ocean City Road. Officials are asking that you use caution in the area. According to one unconfirmed report, animals were still inside. The Talk of Delmarva will have more details as they become available.
