UPDATED: DSP Investigating Fatal Five Vehicle Crash on Coastal Hwy Near Milton; GoFundMe Set Up for Victims
UPDATED – 11/09/25 – Delaware State Police have identified 62 year old Charlene Broccolo and 64 year old Albert Broccolo, both of Bel Air, Maryland, as people who died in the fatal five-vehicle crash on Friday in Lewes.聽 A GoFundMe has been set up to help the family.

ORIGINAL STORY – 11/08/25 – Two people are dead after a five vehicle chain reaction crash around 2:30 Friday afternoon on Coastal Highway near Hudson Road south of Milton. Delaware State Police say four vehicles were in the right southbound lane on Coastal Highway slowing or stopped for traffic when a dump truck failed to slow for the traffic ahead and struck the rear of a Ford Edge, causing a chain reaction crash with three other vehicles.
The driver of the Ford, a 62 year old Bel Air, Maryland woman was taken to an area hospital where she died. A passenger in the Ford, a 64 year old man also from Bel Air, was pronounced dead at the scene. The drivers of two of the other cars were treated at an area hospital for non-life threatening injuries. One driver was not injured.
The driver of the dump truck, a 27 year old man from Wilmington, was also treated for non-life threatening injuries.
Coastal Highway was closed for about 5 hours while police investigated and the scene was cleared. They ask anyone with information on the crash to contact Master Cpl Argo at 302-703-3264 or Crime Stoppers at 800-847-3333.
