The former treasurer of the Mid-Sussex Rescue squad, Heather McCabe was indicted on nine counts of theft of greater than $1500 – she has pleaded not guilty.  An investigation by the State Auditor covered a period from January 1, 2010 through June 30, 2017 and found financial misappropriations that benefited McCabe and the current President – including cash withdrawals and payments for utilities and a car loan.  McCabe faces up to 18 years in prison – each count carries a 2 year term.  Officials in the AG’s office say McCabe is expect to go on trial in late September.
