Governor Moore Announces $19 Million in Grow Your Own Grants for Teacher Pathways


Governor Wes Moore has announced $19 million in expanded Grow Your Own Educators grants for 13 Maryland school systems to help non-licensed school staff become certified teachers. The program is designed to build local teacher pipelines by supporting paraprofessionals and other school employees as they work toward licensure while remaining in the classroom. State officials say the initiative aims to address teacher shortages, strengthen recruitment and retention, and increase educator diversity across the state.聽This round of Grow Your Own Grants include: The Eastern Shore of Maryland Education Consortium, which includes the Caroline, Cecil, Dorchester, Kent, Queen Anne鈥檚, Somerset and Talbot school systems.
