Maryland Highway Worker Killed On the Job near Princess Anne

Maryland State Police are investigating a fatal crash on Route 13 in Princess Anne just after noon Tuesday. Police say a highway worker identified as 70 year old Dipakkumar Patel of Delmar, MD was sitting inside a stationary marked Maryland Department of Transportation vehicle at a highway maintenance project at King Miller Road when the vehicle was struck from behind by a Dodge Caravan driven by 31 year old Amanda Correa of Salisbury. Correa and a passenger were taken to an area hospital. Patel was pronounced dead at the scene by EMS personnel. The investigation is continuing.
