A Mardela Springs, Maryland man has been convicted of the murder of his ex-wife in Wicomico County.
37-year-old Jameal Rashawn Gould was convicted by a Wicomico County jury on Tuesday, Jan. 14, on first and second degree murder, attempted second degree murder, first degree assault, and several other charges, according to the Wicomico County State’s Attorney’s Office.
On Easter, April 1, 2018, Gould went to the home of his ex-wife, Erica Gould, confronted her and pulled out a handgun. He then chased her onto the porch roof of her home where he executed her, according to prosecutors.
Erica was pronounced dead at Peninsula Regional Medical Center.
As Gould entered the home, just prior to the murder, he pointed the handgun at Erica’s sister and pulled trigger, but the firearm jammed.
Gould was prohibited from possessing a firearm due to a 2014 U.S. federal conviction for conspiracy to distribute cocaine.
There is no word on sentencing at this time pending a pre-sentence investigation.
