Update: Criminal Investigation Underway In Ellendale

Update: North Old State Road in Ellendale was reopened prior to 10 a.m. The nature regarding the criminal activity is still under investigation.

A portion of North Old State Road is closed this morning due to police activity in Ellendale.

Delaware State Police said the investigation is centered in the 12,000 block of North Old State Road. The detour is between Fleatown Road and Milton-Ellendale Highway.

Motorists are asked to use alternate routes and avoid the area.

State Police said the investigation is in its early stages.
