Maryland State Police are seeking guidance from the Wicomico County State’s Attorney’s Office in how to move forward with a rape investigation in Salisbury.

According to Maryland State Police, early Saturday morning police received reports of an alleged rape of a female juvenile in the 1000 Block of Mineola Avenue in Salisbury.

Troopers were dispatched to the scene and made contact with the person who filed the report, claiming a juvenile victim was at her home was raped by a juvenile male suspect.

The victim was taken to Peninsula Regional Medical Center prior the arrival of police.

Police were able to identify the male juvenile suspect in the case, who was believed to have been injured in some way at the scene which required him to also go to the hospital.

The findings at the scene, and the fact the suspect sought medical treatment, led troopers to consider a possible stabbing had occurred between both parties in the same residence where the rape reportedly took place.

After further investigation, police determined no assault with a knife or weapon occurred.

The investigation is ongoing with no charges having been filed at this time.
