Residents Escape Early Morning Ellendale Fire

Ellendale firefighters were called to Fleatown Road for a structure fire just before 5 Monday morning. Firefighters found a small fire and structural damage in the area of a heating unit. State Fire investigators were called and determined the fire was accidental and caused by a malfunction at the heating unit.

Damage is estimated at about $10,000. Residents in the home escaped without injury.
