Review Completed Into Dec. ’20 Police Use-of-Force Incident

Three officers who were involved in an incident that resulted in a man being shot in Kent County last year have been cleared of any wrongdoing.

A review was conducted by the Delaware Attorney General’s Office that involved interviews with law enforcement personnel and witnesses as well as an extensive collection of evidence.

Troopers responded to reports of a disorderly person with a gun in Viola last December. Shots were fired toward officers at the scene.

Ronald Cochran was injured when gunfire was returned. Police said he was still in possession of the firearm when he was taken into custody and later treated.
