School Lane Fire in Long Neck under Investigation

A fire Saturday that destroyed a home on School Lane in the Long Neck area is under investigation by the Delaware State Fire Marshal. Indian River fire officials say that just after 11am residents heard a boom from the area of an abandoned home – and could see fire. Crews arriving at the scene found a fully involved blaze – multiple fire companies were called to assist or provide backup.

Several structures were damaged or destroyed in the fire.

Officials say there were no injuries.
