Shots Ring Out Twice Near Rehoboth Overnight
Just after midnight shots rang out outside The Pond Bar & Grill in Rehoboth Beach. Delaware State Police were called for subjects fighting in the parking lot followed by shots fired. Police learned that a male victim had been shot, but left in a private vehicle and was taken to Beebe Healthcare for a gunshot wound to the leg. No other victims were located at the scene, however police did locate 32 shell casings in the parking lot and 2 vehicles that were struck as well as the front window of the bar. Police also found that a round also struck a 2nd floor room at the Comfort Inn next door. Police were called about 30 minutes later for shots at the Wawa at Wolfe Neck Road, no victims were located, but several empty shell casings were found in the parking lot. Police believe the incidents may be related.
