The Department of Transportation (DelDOT) advises motorists that roadways may be closed because of flooding and/or downed trees and power lines. DelDOT encourages motorists to drive carefully and be alert for water on the roadways. Motorists are urged do not drive through standing water.
The road closures will be in effect until the water has receded to a safe travel level for motorists.
The following roadways are closed as of 3pm:
- Airport Road from Old Hickory Road to Dogwood Road remains closed, but is expected to reopen this afternoon.
- US 13 southbound (one lane closed) from Boyce Road to Discount Land Road. The lane will remain closed for several days.
- Camp Road from Seaford Road to Discount Road will remain closed indefinitely, as will Seaford Road from Camp Road to Discount Land Road.
Motorists are advised to drive with caution on roads, pay attention to barricades, and do not drive through standing water. If you see a flooded roadway ahead, turn around and take an alternate route to your destination.
Motorists can adjust their routes or travel times by using DelDOT’s Smartphone application. The DelDOT App is available for Apple & Android smart phones and tablets. You can download free at the Apple and Google Play stores or go to https://www.deldot.gov/mobile/
