Three arrested on assault, robbery charges in Georgetown

Three people were arrested in connection with an assault and robbery in Georgetown.

According to the Georgetown Police Department, shortly before 1 p.m., Monday officers were called to the Western Union on North Race Street for a robbery complaint.

Officers arrived and made contact with the victims who told police they were inside the apartment complex when they were approached by three suspects.

The suspects started assaulting one of the victims, according to police, at which time the other victim tried to intervene.

The three suspects continued assaulting both victims and during the incident, took one of the victim’s wallet. All three suspects then fled the scene in a vehicle.

Officers were able to gather descriptions of the suspects as well as the suspects’ vehicle.

Shortly after the incident, officers located and stopped the suspected vehicle in the area of Depot Street in Georgetown.

All three suspects were located and taken into custody without incident.

Kyle Lynch, 29 of Georgetown, Daniel Santana, 30 of Georgetown and Rebecca Russell, 35 of Quantico, Maryland were all charged with Robbery 2nd Degree, Assault 3rd Degree and Conspiracy.

All three suspects were committed to Sussex Correctional Institute in lieu of $8000.00 secured bond.
