Transformer Problem the Cause of Power Outage Saturday Morning

Saturday morning power outage that affected Delmarva Power customers and Choptank Electric Cooperative members
Nearly 6000 residents from West Ocean City to Newark to just west of Berlin lost power Saturday just after 11am. Over 5500 were customers of Delmarva Power – and about 470 members of Choptank Electric Cooperative. According to Choptank’s Facebook page, Delmarva Power was having problems with a transformer that feeds the Ironshire Substation. Delmarva Power was able to restore power to its customers by noon – and the Co-op quickly followed about 15 minutes later with all power restored.
