UPDATED – 02/14/26 –聽A crash Friday night on Wilson Road north of Georgetown left hundreds of people without power. Delaware State Police say the crash occurred just before 10:30pm when a Honda driven by a 17 year old Georgetown male went off the roadway, struck a utility pole and brought down power lines and ended up on its side in a wooded area.
Police say the driver showed signs of impairment and was charged with DUI and other offenses and released to his parents.
Over 750 Delaware Electric Cooperative members were without power. Crews from DEC worked throughout the early morning hours to repair the broken utility pole, but some members remained without power until early this morning.
