Legislation has passed in the Delaware State Senate that would increase the time period in which the Governor and State Senate must appoint a judicial officer following a vacancy of office.  This would give the Governor and State Senate more flexibility if a vacancy occurs when the Senate is not in session.  This is the second leg of an amendment to the State Constitution.  The first leg passed during the 148th General Assembly.  The bill has been sent to the State House for consideration.
