The Brandywine Valley SPCA will receive 30 dogs as part of an emergency evacuation of pets from Puerto Rico after earthquakes damaged some shelters and left other locations euthanizing highly adoptable animals due to lack of food and water.  The flight should arrive late Sunday morning.  All the dogs are vetted and have been health certified.  The dogs will start to be available for adoption on Tuesday and all Brandywine Valley campuses.

People interested in adopting in Sussex would go to our Georgetown Campus (22918 Dupont Boulevard, Georgetown, DE 19947). The dogs should start becoming available for adoption on Tuesday. No appointment is needed; folks can just come to the shelter, and they will help match them with a dog. An adopter should bring any other dogs in the home for a meet to see how a match is.  They’re open Tuesday through Friday 12-7, Saturday and Sunday 10-5.
