Ocean View Man Hospitalized After Assault with a Crowbar


Delaware State Police are investigating an assault that occurred over the weekend in Ocean View. According to police, on Saturday, February 14th, at about 12:30 a.m., troopers responded to a residence on Mahogany Street. When troopers arrived, they found a 64-year-old man who had been assaulted with a crowbar. He was taken to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Police say two white men were yelling and knocking on the victim鈥檚 door. When the victim opened the door, he didn鈥檛 recognize the two men and tried to close the door. One of the men grabbed him, threw him to the ground, and hit him with a crowbar. The two then fled in an unknown red car. The Delaware State Police Troop 4 Criminal Investigations Unit continues to investigate this incident. Detectives are asking anyone with information regarding this case to contact Detective W.
