Residents Invited to Review the Draft 2026 Worcester County Comprehensive Plan

The Worcester County Planning Commission submitted the draft Comprehensive Plan to the State of Maryland on March 4th. The plan will undergo a 60-day review. County residents are encouraged to review and provide feedback on the draft 2026 Comp Plan and Land Use Map, which is a guiding document that will shape the County’s future growth and development. It deals with land use, zoning, transportation, housing, environmental protection and infrastructure.

Additional information from Worcester County Government:

Additional opportunities for public input will be available following the State鈥檚 review. The Planning Commission will conduct a public hearing before making a recommendation on the plan. A separate public hearing will then be scheduled with the Worcester County Commissioners prior to adoption by resolution.

County officials encourage all residents to take part in the process. The plan may be updated to reflect community feedback before it is finalized.
