Two people were taken to an area hospital after a DART bus crashed into trees on Long Neck Road near Pot Nets Road just before 7:30 Thursday morning. Delaware State Police say the driver fell asleep at the wheel and lost control. The front end of the bus hit a small ditch and multiple trees.

Both the driver and a 30 year old male passenger from Millsboro were treated for non-life threatening injuries at an area hospital.

The driver – a 67 year old woman from Georgetown – was cited for inattentive driving.

Indian River VFC and Mid-Sussex Rescue responded to the call.   Additional resources included DART representatives and the DelDOT Area 4 crew for tree and debris clean-up.
