Salisbury Pride Crosswalks to Become Neutral with Upcoming Roadway Improvement Project

Salisbury’s “pride crosswalks” which have been in place near the Wicomico County Library since 2018, will go away with upcoming roadwork.
Salisbury Mayor Randy Taylor, in a letter to the citizens of Salisbury on Friday, said that when the upcoming milling and paving work on Market Street between Main and South Division is done, the colored chalk “Pride crosswalks” will be repainted with a neutral design to ensure compliance with both Federal guidelines and the City’s commitment to maintaining neutrality in public spaces in compliance with both the Supreme Court ruling and Transportation Department marking standards.
Taylor adds that during the work, no road closures are expected and flaggers will assist with traffic control.
