UPDATE: Altercation Involving Four Students at Parkside High School in Salisbury


UPDATE: 4:30 p.m.

Paul Butler who is the Director of Communications and Community Outreach for Wicomico County Public Schools tells the Talk of Delmarva that today’s incident involved four students and was handled in under 60 seconds. In Parkside’s message to the parents, the school informed them of an altercation that occurred in one of the hallways that involved four students and the apparent use of pepper spray by one or more students. The school had been placed in safe-in-place status for a short time, which allowed school staff, Safe Schools staff, and first responders to address the situation. Instruction continued, and normal operations resumed. 

 

UPDATE 10:25 a.m. (from the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office)

“Safe in Place” has been lifted at Parkside High School at this time. School has returned to normal operating procedures.

 

 
From 10 a.m.
Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office is conducting an investigation at Parkside High School in Salisbury at this time involving several students who were fighting. Multiple injuries have been reported. Students have been in a “Safe in Place” status. The Talk of Delmarva will have more information as details become available.
