Dover Man Charged After Firearms Arrest in Village of Westover

A Dover area man has been arrested on several weapons offenses. Dover Police Department Street Crimes Unit, Drugs, Vice and Organized Crime Unit and Delaware Probation and Parole arrested 19 year old Marlon Martinez on Wednesday night around 7pm on Northdown Drive in the Village of Westover west of Dover on a felony warrant. Martinez tried to run from officers, but was apprehended during the pursuit. After his arrest, police found a loaded firearm concealed in Martinez’s pants. A search warrant was obtained for his residence on Northdown Drive, which turned up additional firearms and 12 different calibers of ammunition in the home.
Martinez is charged with multiple weapons offenses:
- Possession of Firearm by Person Prohibited聽聽
- Possession of Ammunition by Person Prohibited (12x)聽 聽
- Carry Concealed Deadly Weapon聽聽
- Resisting Arrest
- Large Capacity Magazine
Martinez is being held at SCI in default of a $107,000 cash bond.
