590 Vehicles Screened over St. Patrick’s Day Holiday in Sussex County – 5 Arrests for DUI/55 Cited for other Violations


Over the St. Patrick’s Day weekend, 5 drivers were arrested in Delaware for driving under the influence. The Office of Highway Safety partnered with Delaware State Police and local law enforcement agencies to conduct a DUI checkpoint in Sussex County. OHS officials say 590 vehicles were stopped and screened, 5 driver arrested for DUI and 55 others arrested for other traffic-related violations.

OHS also ran their Sober Rides program during two periods on Saturday, March 14th and St. Patrick’s Day. Sober Rides vouchers were used by 235 Delawareans on Saturday and 134 on St. Patrick’s Day.
