Talk of Delmarva Fishing Report 04/03/26

Thursday saw a temperature drop of 40 degrees and plenty of cold wind to go along with it, but the good news came on Wednesday when the first flounder of the year was reported from Delaware Bay and the Lewes and Rehoboth Canal.

Steve at Smith Bait in Leipsic said in addition to the small striped bass and white perch caught from the fishing pier at Woodland Beach on bloodworms he also said one angler was pleasantly surprised by a keeper flounder that he caught on a bloodworm meant for a perch.

Down at Lewes Harbour Marina, they told me another angler fished the Lewes and Rehoboth Canal for a catch of flounder. Unfortunately, the bait they used was not known for sure, but I would guess either live minnows or a bucktail with Gulp! or Fishbites.
