An Ellendale man has been arrested in connection with a felony fraud investigation – involving a stolen check. Felton Police were contacted in early February by Town of Felton employees regarding a theft reported from December of 2025.

Investigation showed the Town mailed a check to a business for services rendered, but the business later reported that no payment arrived. Investigation showed the check was intercepted, altered and cashed. Video surveillance showed 25 year old Tyreeck Anthony Stevens of Ellendale cashing the check.

Warrants were obtained for Stevens, but attempts to locate him were unsuccessful until Capital Police in Sussex County had contact with Stevens on April 9th and he was arrested without incident.

Stevens is charged with the following offenses:

  • theft $1500 or greater (Class G Felony)
  • 2nd degree forgery (Class G Felony)

He was released on a $3000 unsecured bond pending a future court date.
