Talk of Delmarva Fishing Report 05/26/26



Memorial Day was not a good day for fishing the ocean. While the winds were lite, the seas were still at 6 feet and there was a small craft advisory.

Lewes Harbour Marina said the boats that ran up into Delaware Bay on Sunday evening had good luck with black drum. All returned with several caught on clams. However, on Monday no boats left their dock.

Breakwater Tackle on the fishing pier at Cape Henlopen State Park said the folks on the pier were catching keeper flounder on minnows fished close to the pilings. They were also having lots of fun catching bluefish on surface lures during high tide.

Old Inlet Bait and Tackle reported that big blues and striped bass were caught out of Indian River Inlet on Monday. The blues on metal and the stripers on bucktails or plugs.
