The Town of Princess Anne will once again have a full slate of commissioners this week after the municipal election held earlier this month. The District 1 seat was won by Dale Parker who received 121 votes over the incumbent Joseph Gardner’s 72.
The At-Large seat was won by Orlando Taylor with 139 votes – Mohamed Salih received 131 votes. Incumbent Shelley Johnson did not run for re-election as she is a candidate for District 38-A House of Delegates.
There were 2 seats up for election in District 2 – Zelma Hayward ran unopposed for the 4 year seat, but three candidates ran for the open District 2 seat, which was left vacant after the former commissioner was convicted on a weapons charge. Pamela Polk was the top vote-getter with 51 tallies and will fill the remaining two years of the term.
Parker, Hayward, Polk and Taylor will be sworn in on Tuesday.
