Overnight crash and Fuel Spill in Seaford Area


The Talk of Delmarva has learned details about a crash that occurred overnight –about 12:30 AM on June 17th in Seaford. State Police say  Volvo tractor and trailer was traveling eastbound on Stein Highway near Dulany Street. Police investigated and learned that the trailer disconnected from the tractor and the driver tried to slow down to prevent the trailer from falling off the tractor. The trailer ultimately slid from the tractor and struck a guardrail. As a result, a fuel tank on the trailer ruptured, spilling diesel fuel. The driver of the truck, a 50-year-old man from Seaford was not hurt. He was issued a summons for operating an unsafe vehicle. DNREC responded in reference to the fuel spill.
