DSP Investigating Fatal E-Bike Crash South of Rehoboth Beach

Delaware State Police continue to investigate a crash Saturday morning that left a Maryland woman dead. Police say around 11:30 a 66 year old woman from Potomac was riding an e-bike in the designated bike lane, but entered into the southbound lane of Route 1 in the area of Savages Ditch Road just north of the Indian River Inlet Bridge, where she was struck by a a GMC.
The e-bike rider was taken to a local hospital where she was pronounced dead. The driver of the GMC, a 64 year old man from Perryville, MD, was not injured.
