Fatal E-Bike Crash in Dover


Delaware State Police are investigating a fatal E-Bike crash that occurred Monday afternoon in Dover. The crash happened around 1:45 p.m. on March 2nd on northbound DuPont Highway (U.S. 13) near POW/MIA Parkway. Police say a Chevrolet Cobalt was traveling in the left lane when an Aniioki AQ-177 E-Bike entered the roadway and changed lanes into the vehicle鈥檚 path. The car struck the E-Bike, ejecting the rider. The E-Bike operator, 26-year-old Jordan Schollenberger of Camden, was taken to a nearby hospital with life-threatening injuries and died the following day. The 19-year-old driver of the Cobalt, from Harrington, was not injured. The roadway was closed for about three hours while troopers investigated. The crash remains under investigation by the Troop 3 Collision Reconstruction Unit.
