Georgetown Man Arrested for Attempted Murder

A Georgetown man has been arrested on charges of attempted 1st degree murder after an altercation in May in Cool Springs. Delaware State Police say two people were involved in fight with 48 year old Jerome Weathersby of Georgetown. during the incident the 43 year old female victim was stabbed in the hand by Weathersby. As she and the 52 year old male victim drove away from the scene – Weathersby fired several rounds – striking the vehicle three times. The female victim was treated for the injury to her hand – the male victim did not need medical attention.

Investigation brought DSP to Weathersby as the suspect and he was arrested Monday. He faces multiple charges.

  • Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony (Felony)
  • Possession of a Firearm by a Person Prohibited (Felony)
  • Assault Second Degree (Felony)
  • Reckless Endangering First Degree (Felony)
  • Criminal Mischief

Weathersby is being held at SCI in default of a $172,500 cash bond.
