HAZMAT cleans up after large ammonia leak at Solo Cup factory

A large ammonia leak in Federalsburg sends local fire crews and Hazmat units into full response Sunday morning. The leak was reported around 7 AM at the Solo Cup factory in Federalsburg. Units from Federalsburg, Seaford, Salisbury, Preston, Bridgeville, and Easton responded to help. Shore News Beacon reporting a 1000 gallon ammonia tank had only about 25% left in it when crews first arrived. After about 2 hours HAZMAT crews were able to enter the building, with the situation under control by 10:30. No injuries were reported as a result of the leak.
