Comptroller Peter Franchot is reminding military emembers and their families that tax assistance is available at 12 State Comptroller branch offices, as well as through the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program.

In either case, staff will be on hand to help armed forces members with preparing taxes, applying for extensions, or any other number of issues, such as tax benefits for service in combat zones.

Free state tax assistance is available at all of the Comptroller’s 12 taxpayer service offices Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

A list of office locations can be found here on marylandtaxes.gov.
