Millsboro man arrested on drug charges after police seize 186 bags of heroin

A Millsboro man was arrested on drug charges after a search warrant turned up over 180 bags of heroin.

According to the Delaware State Police Department, on Tuesday investigators concluded a month long drug investigation into the matter of 35-year-old Bernardo McKinney, who police say was distributing illegal narcotics in the Millsboro-area.

A search and seizure warrant was obtained for McKinney’s home on Kendall Street, Cloverleaf Apartments, in Millsboro.

McKinney was arrested without incident in the parking lot of the Advance Auto Parts in Millsboro. When police arrived to search McKinney’s home, his 16-year-old son was located inside.

During the search, police located and seized 186 bags of heroin (approximately 1.302 grams), approximately 4.78 grams of marijuana, over $1,900 in suspected drug proceeds, and drug paraphernalia.

McKinney was charged with Possession With Intent to Deliver a Controlled Substance in a Tier 2 Quantity, Possession With Intent to Deliver a Controlled Substance, Possesses a Controlled Substance in a Tier 2 quantity, Possesses a Controlled Substance in a Tier 1 quantity, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Unlawfully Dealing With a Child in Place Where Narcotics or Dangerous Drug Activity and Possession of Marijuana.

McKinney was arraigned and released on $39,401 unsecured bond.
