A Harrington man was arrested after police found needles and drug paraphernalia inside a car with a 4-year-old child.

According to the Harrington Police Department, officers on patrol Tuesday were called to a home in the 500 Block of Shaw Avenue for reports of a suspicious person inside a vehicle.

Police arrived and made contact with 27-year-old Christopher Hulstine, of Harrington, who was a passenger in the vehicle, and an adult female driver.

While speaking to the two, officers witnessed drug paraphernalia fall onto the floor.

Police detained both Hulstine and the woman and conducted a vehicle search.

While searching the vehicle, police located hypodermic needles and several empty Heroin baggies along with other drug paraphernalia.

A 4-year-old child was in the vehicle at the time of the incident.

Hulstine was arrested and the female driver was released without being charged along with the child.

Hulstine was charged with Endangering the Welfare of a Child and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. He was arraigned and committed to the Sussex Correctional Institute in default of bond.
